Drinks of the day_Guinness Punch
Several days ago I had flip thru a cook book of Jamie Oliver and I noticed this interesting drink. So, out of curiousity I decided to try out one myself. Well, the ingredients as provided by Bartender Guide (http://www.drinksmixer.com) is as stipulated below,
12 oz (equivalent to 1 can) Guinness® stout
1/2 cupsweetened condensed milk
1/16 tsp cinnamon
1/16 tsp nutmeg
Unsweetened cocoa powder
The instruction is as per following,
"Gently pour a well-chilled Guinness into a small mixing bowl or glass that will hold all of the liquid ingredients. Add the sweetened condensed milk, spices, and cocoa (if it's wanted). Stir or whisk well, and pour the mixture into a pint-sized beer mug or pub glass. Makes 1 drink."
Well, generally stout is not that popular normal beer. As due to its bitterness and the taste is much heavier compare to beer. However, after combining the ingredients as stated above. It become more aromatic (mainly cinnamon & nutmeg) and the sweetened condensed milk has minimized the bitterness. There are still a but bitter, but it became bitter sweet. It is recommended to serve it with ice.
The flavor is subject to your preference, I also notice that some people are adding vanilla flavor into this drink. To me, this drink is workable. As I do like sweet drinks, cinnamon and well of course stout too. Thus, combination is quite fresh to me and very interesting.
I don't know whether it is works for you or not. But I hope you will enjoy it :)
Regards,
Terence
